Asian Bridal Ceremonies

Asian bridal festivities are full of rich culture and traditions. From elaborate food to beautiful hand- drawn henna designs on the bride’s hands and feet, to the royal lighting of a spiritual fire and tying of the couple along with silk ribbons, each detail is considered to be metaphorical and important for the marriage.

Many spouses read a fortune teller or a Chinese priest to help them choose an auspicious date for their wedding. They even seek out the advice of their mothers and ask them to bestow their blessings on the coalition.

Friends frequently offer donations to the bride and groom at the meeting. The couple’s household generally offers a scented handkerchief to the wedding, and the couple’s parents give the partners decorated stems of Sakaki ( a sacred branch used in adoration of goddesses). There is no best man or giving aside of the bride in a Shinto marriage ceremony and a few thoughts are spoken by the priest before the service concludes with the few offering the stems of Sakaki up.

In Indian bride rites, the bride wears a lehenga which is a long piece of fabric draped around the brain and embellished with intricate stitching. The man wears a sherwani which is a much coating- like garment. At the festival, guests pour holy ocean from their clam shells over the woman’s joined hands to thank them pretty asian women and provide their best wishes. During the welcome, there are usually bear dancing which are believed to ward off evil spirits.
